Ever since Trump took office on Jan. 20, Macri is the second Latin American president to visit US President in the White House. At the end of February, Donald Trump met with Pedro Pablo Kuczynski, the Peruvian President.
The relationship between Washington and Buenos Aires chilled under the 2007-2015 administration of ex President Cristina Fernandez.
After Macri was elected, ex US President Barack Obama went to the South American country in 2016, marking the first visit by a US president to Argentina in about 10 years.
